    Best fish & chip bar in Alty! Tsakeaway or eat in, your choice. Quite expensive as far as chips go but very tasty!

    I'll have to start by saying having been to The Friary in Stockport, what I consider the best chippy in the north west of england, this comes in at a pretty close second. Although, there are some areas they need to improve upon.

    To begin with, lets do the negatives. It's can be like a bloody igloo in their cafe section. Make sure to wrap up warm! The staff can also be a little forgetful at times, she forgot my mushy peas (yet still charged them to me). However, this is all forgotten considering it's one las to look after about 15 tables!

    The food here is great, the chips are nice and golden and the pies nice and filling... although they could be a tad warmer. My Dad says the steak pudding is good here, but nothing to go crazy about.

    I agree with Angela B. though... if they would just have more open hours (such as evenings) then they would make an absolute killing!

    Despite having a chippy but 10 steps from my front door, I can't help but walk the 10 minutes into the centre to go to Altrincham Fish Bar. Located opposite the markets, this fish bar in my opinion is the best in town.

    Owned by a very friendly man who has had the business handed down to him, it's always busy around lunch time. The chips are cooked to perfection and the batter on the fish ia always the perfect colour, crispiness and full of flavour. It would get a roaring trade if it was open in the evenings.

    Id love to give this place 5 stars but its not open at night.
    Family run buissness passed down from dad to son.Quite a sexy man if i must say so.A delight to see at dinner time from work -FISH BITES ARE A RECOMMENDATION,so much more than just fish.Generous portions of everything.
    Staff friendly,really look like they enjoy wht they do.
    Fantastic value for money,just a pity its full to brimming at dinner but all fresh and hot.
    Just imagine the money to be made at night opening.Could have music in the background for dinners.
    Think id rather go for a descent chippy than a fancy restaraunt.
